CARING FOR YOUR GROODLE

While goldendoodles are considered low-maintenance, it's important to note that they still need proper exercise, grooming, and training. Although having a fenced yard is beneficial for their playtime and exercise, it's not advisable to keep them confined there all day. Goldendoodles are social dogs and are at their best when they can spend time indoors with their family and friends.
LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR GROODLE
Crossbreeding Golden Retrievers and Poodles produces a stunning array of offspring in terms of size, color, and coat type. These "shaggy teddy-bears" come in miniature, medium, and standard sizes, just like their Poodle ancestors.

The coat colors of Groodles include gold, black, cream, red, grey, and brown, often without markings. They have hanging ears, a long nose, and a tail that typically curls up over their backs with a full plume.
There are three coat types to choose from: wool, straight, and fleece. The woolen coat is similar to that of a Poodle and is typically non-shedding, while the fleece coat is looser and wavier and generally low shedding. The straight coat usually sheds some.

Groodle dogs are a social breed that thrives with individuals or families who can provide them with adequate companionship and stimulation. Their happy-go-lucky attitude is highly desirable, and their mischievous and curious nature is endearing. Most Groodles are adaptable and can easily integrate into households with or without existing pets and/or children.

These dogs are typically easy to train, as they love to learn new things and aim to please their owners. They are well-suited to first-time owners who provide appropriate mental stimulation and training. Groodles are highly intelligent, benefitting from early puppy training, and excel in obedience and agility. While they rarely show aggressive tendencies, many are excellent watchdogs. Adequate socialisation with other dogs and people is essential to reduce unwanted or fearful behaviors.

Groodles thrive in both urban and rural settings but are not well-suited to strict apartment living. They appreciate a good burst of daily exercise, and their personalities vary greatly - some are mellow, while others are highly energetic.

Like their Golden Retriever ancestors, Groodles usually love to swim and enjoy water activities, such as visiting the beach or playing with a backyard hose or sprinkler system.
At Groodles Australia, our team will always strive to match you and your lifestyle to a suitable puppy, ensuring a happy life together.
